Why would you pick Us ?
Harper’s Roofing, Inc. is a full service roofing contractor specializing in hard to find leaks as well as complete roof replacement, storm damage repairs, maintenance repairs and cleanings.
Re-roofing a home can be overwhelming but we try to make it as seamless as possible. When we re-roof a home, we do not stop until we are done. Some companies will have a tear off crew, then load the material, and then send another crew back to roof it however that fits into their schedule. With Harper’s Roofing, Inc. the same re-roof crew will normally tear off and dry in (install felt paper ) the very first day. This is also the time that the plywood, fascia and shingle molding is inspected. If any wood is rotted then this is the time we change that out. If there are certain pieces of fascia that are actually usable but are cosmetically un- appealing, then we recommend that the homeowner let us know this first day so we can change it out.
Our re-roofs will typically take 2 to 3 days depending on the size and style of roof. Many homeowners compliment us on the clean up and how quickly the roof is done. An additional benefit is that our re-roof crew has worked for us for over 12 years and has continuously provided quality roofs. They are direct employees of Harper’s Roofing and are not sub-contractors.
There are many brands of shingles to choose from with the most popular and affordable being the 30 year dimensional asphalt shingles. We only use quality products and not left-over seconds. All manufacturers offer their own material warranty. We can provide actual shingles as samples so you may see the colors you are interested in the direct sunlight and against the paint of your home.
Leak repairs are our specialty. We fix the most obvious sources of water entry first to narrow down possibilities the water can travel. This minimizes costly repairs and re-roofs up front. You only want to fix what you absolutely have to fix without going overboard and re-roofing the entire roof. Some companies will automatically bid to re-roof half the roof rather than just the area needing repaired. We are confident in our leak repairs so we don’t have to bid to re-roof half of the house in order to fix a small leak. We warranty the leak repair for 2 years, however, if after the warranty has expired and the same area is continuing to leak, we will repair the same area if we feel that it is the fault of the original labor and installation. We guarantee the leak will be fixed even if we need to come back several times to hunt down the source. And we never charge a trip charge for warranty repairs.
We also are able to repair wood rot on the plywood, fascia and shingle molding. Usually wood rot is just a symptom of an unidentified roof leak. We will usually recommend a leak repair at the area of the rotted fascia rather than just replacing the fascia in order to prevent future and further problems.
When it comes time to sell one home and buy another, we also work with realtors and home inspectors. At this juncture, a home inspector will inspect the roof as well as the attic space. On average, inspectors will find some kind of maintenance repairs and we are here to repair even the “smallest” of items. We also have the capability of billing the title company if that fits with the negotiation of the transaction.
Venting is becoming a popular accessory to add to any roof and is cost effective to do so at the time of re-roofing. We only use Lomanco products which have a proven track record for removing heat from your attic. Feel free to ask about ridgevent for both shingle and tile roofs.
Patio roofs commonly last 8 – 12 years depending on the original material and the sun exposure so replacing your patio roof before your shingle or tile roof is normal. We are one of a handful of companies that installs the modified bitumen using the torchdown process. We still use this process as it is more cosmetically appealing and longer lasting than the cold process of Peel N Stick. Also as an extra reassurance, our liability insurance covers the torchdown process. And we are certified applicators for Polyglass which means we have the knowledge and experience to install this type of roof as certified by the manufacturer.
Foam roofs are another type of flat roof. It has a higher R Value than other types of flat roof materials and new foam roofs usually come with a longer labor warranty. We are also capable of repairing these roofs. They do take a bit more maintenance as the foam roof should be cleaned annually (or twice a year if in a heavily treed area) as leaves and debris will cause rain to pond and not drain properly. Ask about our cleaning services as we can clean off any type of roof, not just foam. Plus, at the time of the cleaning we can inspect for any cracks or bubbles and correct these minor problems before they become major headaches.
Besides shingle roofs, tile roofs are another popular roof type here in sunny Arizona. Tiles themselves can last as long as 50 years, but it is the underlayment that wears out and needs to be replaced every 18-22 years. When you start experiencing leaks, this is a sign that the felt paper is starting to wear out with the most common areas being where the rain will drain and pond (valleys and dead valleys). At the sign of your first leak, we can check the condition of the felt paper and let you know the approximate life expectancy. Chris has surprised many a homeowner when he lets them know that they probably have another 2 – 3 years left, give them an estimate just to fix the leak and that we will call the homeowner in 2 years for a free inspection regarding the life expectancy of the felt paper. With this kind of information, you the homeowner can make an informed decision on whether to just fix the leak, or move forward and take care of the entire roof. We also are able to do half a roof at a time. Usually one slope or section may receive more weather than another side and will need to be re-roofed now while the other slope may have yet another year or two before it has to be redone.
As with a shingle roof, when we re-roof a tile roof, we do not stop until we are done. Some companies will have a tear off crew, then load the material, then come back to roof it. We normally tear off and dry in the very first day. This is also the time that the plywood, fascia and shingle molding is inspected. If any wood is rotted then this is the time we change that out. If there are certain pieces of fascia that are actually usable but are cosmetically un- appealing, then we recommend that the homeowner let us know this first day so we can change it out. Our tile re-roofs will typically take 4 to 5 days depending on the size and style of roof.
There are different types of tiles as well. From the standard concrete tile to clay tiles to mud set tiles, we are experienced in repairing and re-roofing all tile types.
